Colour projection with sound
Brian Rock is a rock inhabiting Facebook. The artist looks longingly to Brian, whom she had known in a previous lifetime, when he occupied a place within a rural context. He formally inhabited a local field and worked closely alongside Sisyphus, whom in earlier years spent rolling rocks up Moan Laur (the local mountain).
The rapid changes within Brian Rock’s lifetime calls to mind the rapid changes in both technology and civilisation, in which Paul Virillo describes in his book; ‘The Great Accelerator.’ Due to these rapid changes, Brian has gathered no moss and inhabits this clandestine digital landscape – bringing out a latent desire by the artist to stalk him intensely online.
Brian Rock has been shown at Zona Mista & Westminster Waste, London.
